Coordinator of Embrapa's Scientific Cooperation Program in the United States (Embrapa Labex-USA)

Geraldo Martha is an agronomist (1994), having received his Ph.D. (2003) in agronomy, with emphasis in Animal Sciences and Pastures from the University of São Paulo. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in economics at the University of Brasilia (2007). He has been a researcher at Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) since 2001. In the past 15 years he has coordinated more than a dozen research projects, and has published more than 120 scientific and technological papers.

Geraldo Martha is the former Coordinator-general of Embrapa Strategic Intelligence System (Agropensa), from 2012 to 2015, and has served as the Deputy Head for Strategic Studies at Embrapa Studies and Training. He is a former member of Embrapa's Strategy Management Committee and of the Commission for Sustainable Development in Agriculture of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply. In 2007, he started coordinating the research group on “Land-use dynamics and Cerrado regional development.” He was a CNPq fellow from 2010 to 2013. Geraldo Martha was a graduate professor at the University of Brasilia in the animal science program, teaching “Planning and Management of Pastoral Systems”, from 2006 to 2012.

Since late 2015, Dr. Geraldo Martha became the coordinator of Embrapa’s Scientific Cooperation Program in the United States, the Embrapa Labex-USA.
